How La Cale began
La Cale began in February 2026 with a conversation between Yves Macé, Gilles Macé — owners of Le Dhow — and Anas Bel Âge, DJ, promoter and long-time advocate for electronic music and cultural projects in Morocco.
The idea was simple: the hull of the boat had the potential to become something Rabat didn't yet have.
Not another nightclub.
A place where music would be listened to as much as danced to. Where the atmosphere mattered as much as the line-up. Where people could gather without feeling judged by the way they dressed, danced or experienced the night.
Two months later, in April 2026, La Cale opened its doors.
The interior of the boat was stripped back and rebuilt from the inside out. Every decision — from the layout and materials to the acoustics, lighting and sound system — was made with one goal: creating a room that felt intimate, warm and made for music.
More than a club
Over time, La Cale became more than a club.
In 2027, the project evolved with the opening of La Cale Listening Bar, introducing a programme centred around cocktails, vinyl culture and carefully curated music. Guest bartenders, record selectors, dedicated listening sessions and a renewed focus on mixology gave the venue a different rhythm earlier in the evening before naturally flowing into the club at night.
